A steam punk take on the character is bold, brave and adventurous. What year is it supposed to be though? The Hornet and Kato prance around a tale of paper thin disguises, Black Beauty III is an airship and something unpleasant lurks. There is gang war, strange cults and this is not a thundering cliché but entertaining. It contains no moody meditations or historical significance but is okay. I hope future issues are as full of intrigue and wild possibilities.
