Trailers, Quotes and a 2005 Tape Tale

‘Ultraviolet’ promo
This 1998 promo was iffy.

Ultraviolet’ teaser
The dated looking graphics and 70s music don’t show the promise of the 1998 show.

‘Serenity’ trailer
The flop movie spin-off of ‘Firefly’. It promises River, rebels, Reavers and copious ripoffs of ‘Star Wars’. The trailer gives far too much away and this was a terrible movie.

Best Lines:
“Where are you hiding little girl?”

“Let’s be bad guys.”

Salted Caramel cookies - yum.
Mendiant - nice.
Bramley Apple Crumble yogurt - okay.
Millionaire cocktail - divine.
IceBreakers Frost mints - nice.
Apple Drops - good.

Sky News Quote:
“It stinks of death up here.”

Dr Phil’ Quotes:
“Evil, evil bad man.”

“That bitch owed me!”

“I know he did it.”

“Is the security man close?”

“Hanging out with drug addict people.”

“Blame some kind of voodoo cult.”

“The blackberry bush you left her in.”

Joey Essex Quote:
“Imagine being attacked by a load of sheeps.”

‘Cuckoo’ Quotes:
“This page is blank. Do I read it anyway?”

“Last time you were home alone, burglars broke in and stole only vodka and beer. And left a used condom in my office.”

“You mean old bastard, where is it?”

“What’s your name?”

“Skyping in the nude with a young American.”

‘Arbella: England’s Lost Queen’ Quote:
“A gentleman servant of Bess’s wrote seeking new employment on the ground that ‘this house is a hell’.”

So on ‘Forever’, they’re saying Adam is the Burn Gorman character and he won’t be played by Adrian Pasdar. Screw you TPTB.

On ‘Wild Mississippi' - we got the cute Southern Flying Squirrel, the bizarre Paddlefish and the Lovecrafitan grossness of the Lamprey Eel.

Ben from ‘American Gothic’ is so old now on ‘Justified’.

On ‘Hollyoaks’: Sinead realises her unborn child is Ste’s and not Tony’s. Teegan gets DNA proof that Diane has her baby.

Cleared out a 2005 tape. It began with a ‘Veronica Mars’ ep ‘Clash of the Tritons’ in which there is bad acting, fake lips, Veronica uncovers a secret society and Logan’s mother jumps off a bridge. Veronica invades people’s privacy and the idyllic flashbacks aren’t so idyllic. Veronica is arrested for selling fake IDs. Veronica has no shame and is scandalously brazen and notorious. Logan was a classic psychopath until he was made an extreme wussy. Veronica dresses like a mangy freak rock groupie. Veronica runs the school which is a damning indictment of the education system and the dubious powers of the internet. This show has way too much blue filter. Aaron feels besmirched. Veronica does a hideous self-indulgent musical number and this was mediocre. Veronica hears about a little girl who was abducted and murdered and never did a thing about it.

Best Lines:
“It’s not you. It’s the talking.”

“You slammed a chair against the wall.”

“Turn me into Costner?”

Then came a ‘Point Pleasant’ ep ‘Hell Hath No Fury Like A Woman Choked’ in which Grant Show overacts and steals the show. There are sub-Wagnerian warbling, Christina is well-intentioned and there are denunciations. Everyone in town is either a hippie or a hick. This considered thoroughly being a good show and sadly rejected it. There is bad lip syncing, Boyd’s zombie girlfriend Holly slinks, there is bad acting and this was irrefutably awful.

Best Lines:
“He’s been dead before.”

“When he wished me back, he should have been more specific.”

“I’ve seen what’s coming. For all of us.”

“Little bastard.”

Then finally there was another ‘Veronica Mars’ ep ‘An Echolls Family Christmas’ in which a poker party at Logan’s gets ripped off. Veronica misses her mother and it is a shame how the inconsistent show claimed she was a thieving evil drunk all along. Aaron has a stalker. Veronica is a gore-crow. Weevil garners jeers from the rich kids. Keith is injudiciously dumb and a nutter is inconvenient. This was definitely not good.

Best Lines:
“How does it feel to want?”

“An ass like an 18 year old wrestler. He’s psycho bait.”

“Sticking her fake boobs at him.”

“Before me you sat in your underwear in a fish tank.”
