‘Golden Girl’ (1979) trailer
This is based on a sci-fi novel by Peter Lear which wasn’t bad. A bizarre organisation trains the title character to win three gold medals at the 1980 Moscow Olympics. Well, then reality intervened. But never mind, James Coburn stars as a man who looks into the mysterious golden girl (Susan Anton) who does a lot of bending over in leotards and wears a ridiculous headband over her Farah hair. This does not look as good as the book.

This rapidly cancelled soap was ridiculous and this soft focus ad showing off Casper van Dien’s lack of acting skill didn’t help.

On ‘Hollyoaks’, Patrick is emotionally abusing Maxine some more and Sienna more or less insinuates that Patrick molested her. Ew.
Roasted Hazelnut choc = nice.
Caught two of Billy Zane’s ‘Charmed’ eps. First up was ‘Carpe Demon’ in which Drake an ex demon shows up. Drake (Zane) and Phoebe bond over her love of Gene Kelly movies. Phoebe likes Gene Kelly movies?!? Paige gurns and Piper looks tired. Drake acts like Robin Hood due to a convoluted plot and an evil sorcerer. Phoebe’s heart growing cold is such a terrible thing apparently. Drake as Robin Hood takes on the evil price gouging phone company guy. Piper is all banter and grumpiness. Paige just disrespects everyone. Drake shows off his black demonic attire and narrowly escapes purgatory. The sisters are selfish and Drake amused.

The ‘Show Ghouls’ episode saw Drake DeMon and Phoebe time travel to a 1899 cabaret which was stuck in a time loop. An evil count (David Anders) made a deal with a demon and to get out of it, murdered and damned the souls of all those at the cabernet. Phoebe and Drake must save the innocent souls from the ghostly limbo of the Gilded Age. Paige wears underwear as ‘clothes’ and exists only to annoy. The cabaret burns down about three times with a distinct lack of smoke. The count is dragged to hell in a scene that rips off ‘Ghost’ and the innocents who were cursed go free. This was okay.

Cleared out a tape from 2001. It began with a ‘Relic Hunter’ ep ‘Vanishing Act’ in which Sidney and her idiot Hugh Grant look-alike sidekick get involved with magicians. Silly magician’s assistant’s outfits are worn and this was daft.
Then came a season 5 ‘Buffy The Vampire Slayer’ ep ‘Real Me’ in which Dawn annoys, Riley bores and Giles’ reaction to a murder in the Magic Shop is to admire the shop’s profit margins. Harmony shows up to bore. Dawn fancies Xander which is played for laughs and then they hooked up in the comic for real. Ew. Willow baby talks. TPTB continue their Spike obsession and this bored.

“A little idiot who is going to get us all killed.”
Then came a season 2 ‘Angel’ ep ‘Are You Now or Have You Ever Been’ in which Angel recalls his past in the Hyperion Hotel during the red scare. This was stupid. Then came a ‘Cleopatra 2525’ ep ‘Trial and Error’ in which Raina the telepath tries to control a Bailey and the gang ignore all the evidence that Voice is nefarious. This was silly especially Raina’s ‘sexy’ straitjacket.
Finally there was a ‘Jack of all Trades’ ep ‘Dead Woman Walking’ in which the Daring Dragoon is framed for tomb raiding. Emilia fakes her own death to root out the real culprit. The Frenchies are evil and this was okay.
