Book Review: City of Bones

The Mortal Instruments Book One: City of Bones by Cassandra Clare
Clary and her friend Simon go to a club and Clary sees something strange. That is how she and Simon learn of the existence of the supernatural and her place in it. This has shadow hunters, demons, warlocks, vampires, werewolves, secrets, revelations and a big bad who is returning. This was good and I’ll read more in this saga.

Best Lines:
“Jace, on the other hand, looked like the sort of boy who’d come to your house and burn it down for kicks.”

“Portals are quite difficult to construct and pose no small risk to their owner. Nasty things can come through them if they’re not warded properly.”

“Gregor will be fine. I rarely sweep.”

“Don’t look too closely; going through vampires’ trash is rarely a pretty picture.”

“What did vampires have against stairs?”

“You’ll hide here till you die, terrified to do so much as open a window too widely.”

“Valentine brought them all under his wing. I thought it was kindness, then; now I am not so sure. I think he was building himself a cult.”

“In Hoc Signo Vinces.”
