Jesus and Ben Linus fight crime!
After beating up scumbags on a train, former government agent John Reese (Jim Caviezel) teams up with reclusive billionaire software genius Harold Finch (Michael Emerson of ‘Lost’ and ‘Saw’) to hand out vigilante justice at the behest of a mysterious Machine. NYPD cop Carter (Taraji P. Henson) is on Reese’s trail. This was okay as an ADA was in peril, Reese sported a hilarious fake beard, William Sadler was in one scene and Reese had a past with a mysterious woman named Jessica who can’t act. I liked the back-story and the twist but is Jim Caviezel doing a Christian Bale impression or is that his real voice?
“I’ll need a statement from the bum.”
“I think you’re a bored rich guy.”
“I was building the government a tool of unimaginable power. I thought maybe an off switch would come in handy.”
“Drag your friend outside and take him to the hospital. Right now.”
The annoying opening credits debut, the vigilantes pursue a presumed dead teenage girl, Reese menaces Lionel the dirty cop and Carter instigates. Finch is disabled and has a cover story, Reese beats up a pub full of hard men, an annoying girl is protected and there is an intriguing final shot. This was okay.
“No one comes home.”
“Trigger happy hobo.”
“How about some of those other people you killed? Like the brother of that gang leader that lives on your cell block?”
The vigilantes look into a bank robbery crew. Reese headbutts an obnoxious banker. There is guilt and greed. It seems there is a bigger bad out there as suckers are betrayed. This was not good and I don’t care about bloody Jessica.
“Don’t you knock?”
“Not if I can help it.”

Finch goes to the ER to spy on a doctor. He has had bone grafts and spinal fusion surgery. Why? Dr Tillman (Linda Cardellini) works 80 hours a week in the hospital and then spends the rest of the week partying in nightclubs. Reese looks into Dr Tillman’s double life and uncovers a stalker and a twist. Carter interview Finch about a robbery from 1x03. Reese takes down a bad man and manipulates. This was okay.
“Eight pounds of lye. Heated to 300 degrees. Body will dissolve in three hours, give or take.”
“I will refrain from asking how you know that.”
