Book Review: Gone Girl

Gone Girl by Gillian Flynn

From the author of the excretable ‘Dark Places’ comes this excellent tale of a missing wife, her jerk husband and a disturbing account of a toxic marriage. Amy goes missing and her husband Nick could care less. He resents his wife and her diary entries paint a picture of an unhappy woman trying to please an unpleasable husband.

A troubled marriage and the dark deceptions of domesticity are dissected. What has happened to Amy? What caused the breakdown of her and Nick’s once happy marriage? This is an excellent dark story with a double twist ending.

Best Lines:
“People will think we’re ironic instead of creatively bankrupt.”

“If I saw her on the street, I’d run the other way."
