An okay action flick but this isn't Bond. Where are the quips? The gadgets?
The women with implausible names? Instead we get M swearing, a Eurotrash
villain who isn't the slightest bit villainous and a rip-off of a famous
scene from 'Goldfinger'.
Bond tracks down those who caused Vesper to betray him. This leads him to
Quantum, a bad guy cartel who are everywhere. It looks like Quantum will be
an ongoing threat throughout Daniel Craig's Bond tenure. Though there is
ongoing action, the plot makes no real sense. Sure M swears and uses a cool
tracking system but the plot drags on and on and on.
The theme song is dire and the opening credits are dull. Still there was amusing moment, when Bond
confronts Vesper's evil boyfriend. Vesper's boyfriend's job is to seduce
female spies, fake a threat to his life and make them betray their countries
for him. Bond catches up with the slime and his latest victim (she also
wears a love knot necklace, he must buy them in bulk) and Bond says he also
has the same necklace. For a moment, he seems to be referring to himself
and not Vesper. This is a dull film and it's not Bond.
