Dead in the Family by Charlaine Harris
The 10th 'Sookie' book is a return to form after the dire 'From Dead to Worse' and 'Dead and Gone'. Sookie is recovering mentally and physically from the previous books. but supernatural trouble still surrounds her. There's ructions in the werewolf clan, a fairy relative has come to visit, there's yet another vampire power play going on and anti-supernatural sentiment is rising.
Sookie deals with things as best she can. This is good. The focus on family is the best aspect of it. Plus the set-up for future books (anti-supernatural feelings and the FBI agent) do intrigue.
I have to say the book series is far better than the tv show.
