The Green Hornet (2011) Review

I like the 1960's TV show and I liked this take on The Green Hornet. Brit Reid (Seth Rogen) is a loud, crude, selfish, stupid, rich idiot of a man-child. When his unloved dad dies, Britt inherits the family newspaper and his dad's mechanic Kato (Jay Chou).

Britt and Kato who both seem to be functioning sociopaths get drunk and decide to indulge in property damage and super-heroing. For the thrills you understand not for any moral purpose. Also they're into each other but don't actually admit it, but the subtext isn't sub it's text.

But Britt being Britt nearly messes it all up by being a loud moron. This leads to a brawl where he and Kato smack each other around instead of you know doing something else that involves rolling around on top of each other.

Luckily they reconcile in time to have a huge showdown with the baddies and blow more stuff up because they are the good guys pretending to be bad guys or are they. This was a funny, camp romp.

Best Lines:
" Let's not blow this thing out of proportio."
"I will blow this guy in any proportion I want."

"I think we're in the hood Kato."

"You said my outfit was pimp."

"Girls are a drag Kato, I'm so glad we have each other."

"I kicked that guy in the face like three times remember?"
