2003 Tape Tale

Cleared out a tape from 2003. It had one ‘Buffy the Vampire Slayer', one ‘Angel’ and two ‘Smallville’ eps on it.

The ‘Buffy’ ep was the season 7 ‘First Date’ in which Giles is an idiot, Ashanti guest stars as a demon, Buffy blathers on about Spike and his soul non-stop, Principle Wood has a wall of weapons and Xander goes on a date the Ashanti demon. After being stabbed with a knife, he is rescued and naturally Buffy coos over Spike while ignoring Xander and his gut wound. This was just low budget crap. Wood’s storyline became all about Spike, Willow and Anya do Buffy’s laundry for no clear reason, everyone is living in Buffy’s house for some reason, TPTB are obsessed with Andrew and The First is the worst villain since Warren.

Best Line:
“He was in the school basement holding a shovel acting kind of evasive.”

The ‘Angel’ ep was the season 4 ‘Salvage’ in which Angelus is loose, Lilah is dead, Wesley is ever useless, Connor annoys and Faith returns. Despite Angelus strutting around LA everyone sits on their ass. Wesley hallucinates and chops off Lilah’s head. The Beast lurks, gets a kiss from Cordelia and is killed off. Cordelia then tells Connor she is knocked up and somehow nobody notices she is evil, evil, evil, evil. This was dull.

Best Line:
A Beast we don’t know how to kill. We know it’s working for something much worse but we don’t know what it is.”

Then came the season 2 ‘Smallville’ ep ‘Suspect’ in which Lionel is shot, Jonathan is the suspect and Clark runs around yelling, being violent and accusing Lex. I can’t stand Clark.

Then was another season 2 ‘Smallville’ ep ‘Insurgence’ in which Lex pays thugs to break into Lionel’s office and things get out of control and Jonathan is self righteous. Oh shut up.
