Book Review: The Mammoth Book of Apocalyptic SF

The Mammoth Book of Apocalyptic SF Edited by Mike Ashley

This is a very good collection of tales that centre on apocalypse nowish or afterwards. This is very enjoyabale.

When We Went to see the End of the World

The latest craze in a decaying world is to time travel to se how the world ends. This is good and creepy with the protagonists seemingly unaware of what is happening around them.

The Clockwork atom bomb
A post-apoc world holds all kind of dangers. This is okay.

Bloodletting
A plan to save the world, dooms it. This is a sad, creepy tale of the unwitting start of a global pandemic.

The End of the World Show
The world ends in a very funny British stiff upper lip way. This is very good.

Fermi and Frost
A tale of a nuclear winter. This is okay.

Sleepover
A man is brought out of cryo-suspension to an unexpected future. This is okay.

The Last Sunset
The world is about to end. What do you do? This is good.

The Books
Children in a post apoc world find the most wonderful thing they've ever seen: a library. This is very good.

Pallbearer
A town is one of the last bastions of humanity in an empty world. Then visitors arrive and ugly truths emerge. This is very, very good.

The Meek
The meek inheirt the Earth. This is okay.

The Man Who Walked Home
A creepy, creepy tale that combines a post apoc world and time travel. This is good.

A Pail of Air
Are the last people on Earth alone? This is good.

Guardians of the Phoenix
Survivors in a parched world hunt for something better. This is good.

Transforming Terra
To rebuild a ruined Earth. This is okay.

She lives forever and sees the world end. This is good.

The Children of Time
Depictions of humanity into the far, far future. This is good.
