Jill parties and tells endless filthy self serving lies at Terry's funeral in this completely inept 'sitcom'. Terry has not met a grim end, yet. This is the sickest of comedies and wickedly dark apparently. Cath punches Jill in the face. Terry's ignored in the hospice. There are condom jokes. Cath throws Jill out. Health and safety finally shows up at the salon. Jill mispronounces Linda's name. Cath keeps giving Don's notes on her pain that he never reads. Jill has Terry's funneral despite him not being dead. Jill golddigs and hurls herself onto Cath's car. Jill's dangerous, insolent and disconnected. This was not intellegient, wry, vivid or macabre. Something awful will happen. There is acrimony and bitterness. Jill rides a horse side saddle up the church aisle and strips off a does a dance routine at Terry's fake funeral.
Terry's pushed out of the picture. Jill behaves unforgivably. There is no tragic register. There is curtailed potential. Jill has no feral complexity. Cath is mentally scarred from Jill's nefarious voyerism. Jill cannot form meaningful realtionships. Jill has no capacity for human emotion. Jill is dementing. Cath feels iolsation and incapacity. Cath has a crushed inner sense of self. Don has no hidden depths, he has impassivity. Jill is exploitative company. Jill first befriended then betrayed Cath.
Jill engineers situations where people have to respond. Jill piles on the misery. She's perturbing. Cath is achingly vulnerable. There is plenty of unpleasantness. Cath is angry with very good reason. The furore isn't done. Jill has various malfeasances to come. This is not completely thrilling.
Jill is not excitingly cruel. There is moral degredation and innate fecklessness. There are lewd gyrations. Cath and Don are pretty much useless. Jill's chained the fridge shut and locked Terry under the stairs. There is no common decency. Jill puts a nappy on Terry and aims a hose at him. She seduces another man and Cath leaves Don.
Linda sees Terry. Jill smothers Terry and makes her new lover take the blame. Jill poisons a vicar and her new lover. Jill's got Don at last. But Terry's still alive! But Linda isn't! This is unbearably grating.

Magpie Murders (2023) 1x02
A BBC1 drama based on a novel. A murder mystery within a murder mystery. This goes to improbable corners and isn't that interesting.

It's Only The Beginning
This is not very stark. Just deadly dull. The Resistance consists of about 4 people. Erica and her blowout must feel ineradicable despair about damaging her pelvic floor with Tyler. This was stilted, stagegy and downmarket. Tyler is oblivious to sense and his mom is the receptacle for her son's anger. Where's Tyler's pal gone? Tyler vents wrath. Tyler will never redeem his sins. Valerie is Tyler's shrink.
What are the Visitors deeper intentions? Lisa and her mad mommy Anna plot. I don't care about Tyler's unresolved grief or regret. This does not resonates profoundly. Erica does crisis work and should be frightened by her moron son.
This is not completely thrilling. The aliens are a source of discord and are planning public disorder. Chad goes to a healing centre and sees the alien do wonderful things. Tyler is nakedly aggressive. Things will descend into chaos. There is terrifying throng There is no moral victory just criminal escalation.
Anna is the intellectual and moral architect of what is to come. Anicent myth John May was a non event. Posh twat Anna will inflict terrible acts. Sleeper Visitors have pills that burn their bodies to ashes. This is an artifical assemblage of elements made according to everyone elses expectations. Chad is competing for dominance, this is everything he'll ever be known for. Ryan wrought havoc. The priest keeps the ravages of his rage at bay. He was an army chaplin who did 2 tours. Something didn't go right on a mission, nobody said anything, nobody did anything. Tyler is dependent on Lisa's approval in all matters. He is relentless in professing his happiness. He has no trepidation just lingering antipathy. Erica is not calm and comforting. Anna is insurmountable. This reboot has all gone wrong at such speed. Anna has consternation and remorseless fury and increasingly keen to kill. Tyler isn't rising to his responsibilities. There is implicit upset. Anna shows Tyler the engine room.
Chad is messed with by Marcus. The whole Bliss thing is stupid. Ryan learns Valerie is carrying a half lizard baby.
Welcome To The War
Marcus smirks. Lisa and Tyler's stories won't end in the warm glow of mutual satisfaction. Marcus hates Chad so much, it is hilarious. Tyler is vile. A Visitor fleet is coming. Anna is to breed an army. The priest was shot or something. Tyler should be dragged out to explain himself. What is in the flu vaccine? The priest is shirtless and sweaty. He is not the most savvy of violent men. This is not enjoyably frivious. This is not a dark tale taking place in a seemingly idullic American city. There will be a violent confrontation. Erica finally goes to work. Spiteful things are done. Anna dictates. The Resistance gets a dangerous new member. Ryan shows off his lizard eyes. Valerie nearly eats a mouse.
Best Line:
“Your mouthpiece Chad.”
Pound Of Flesh
Anna blathers about human emotion. New guy blathers. The starchild (reboot version) is creepy. Erica visits her useless ex. Things go awry. Anna has genuinely frightening anger. Marcus rebelling against Anna in season 2 came way too late and lead to nothing. Nobody will remember this and it lead to nothing lasting. Joshua has the sense of a senile donkey. This has no artistic dignity. Where is the cop presence? Why are no scientists looking into ALIEN LIFE like in the original? Some chrome is waved.

“There'll be less soon.”
“Anna's birthing soliders.”
John May
Michael Trucco plays John May. This show is so badly lit and there is a cosntant rejection of logic. Anna's pregnant. Anna has a live aboard idea. Tyler and his dad and Lisa get way too much screen time. Chad is boring. This is a grim reminder of how bad tv can be. Anna is adamant in her awfulness. John May has a wife and children? Hobbes is the worst. Jessica Parker Kennedy aka Nora Allen on 'The Flash' is in this.
