Peacemaker 1x07+Meltdown: Three Mile Island 1x01-1x04+A Sense Of History Reviewed

Stop Dragon My Heart Around

Harcourt, Murn, Adebayo, Economos, Vigilante and Peacemaker have to fight various battles. There is to be a Waller spinoff show. This show is rather compelling. Auggie had a mullet and he is a foaming at the mouth psychotic. Peacemaker has considerable justification for being the way he is. Peacemaker killed his brother, accidentally. Vigilante annoys. The diary is fake?

We see an E-Z-P-Z Market. Judomaster lurks. 2 idiots call him a leprechan and regret doing so. White Dragon can fly?!? Things get rowdy. How can White Dragon's goons see in their pillowcases? How can so many people fit their whole life into 1 wheelie suitcase? A poor racoon is used as a decoy. Murn dies. Baddies don't have peripheral vision. Harcourt bonds with the Murn butterly in its death throes. Judomaster ignores his sucking chest wound.

How does one of White Dragon's goons have wifi in the woods? White Dragon punches Eagley. Vigilante and the fat guy foil White Dragon. Peacemaker finally kills his mad dad. Harcourt has no bruises from being punched in the face by Judomaster. Who is Adebayo's father? A clinic called Paws A Moment is seen. Eagely lives. What happened to all the dead racists?

Harcourt becomes the leader. There is a teleportation machine. There is a slo mo power walk. A great big monster is seen. How did they transport it? What is it? This was good.

The Accident

This is a limited series about the 1979 accident and the secrecy and cover up that resulted. There were miserable conditions in the plant. There are nuanced details and searing insight into what happened. This was frequently devastating.

People needed mettle to stand up to the nuclear lobby who told appalling lies. WTF is radioactive iodine? People wax lyrical. There was hyper-nationalism and trash men. Reporters have dissatisfaction. 'The China Syndrome' movie had come out 12 days before the accident happened.

There were no rapid and urgent reactions. The accident was disruptive and its negative, unintended consequences. The accident was a deadly health hazard and a grave threat. There were unjust decisions and talk of Boron. One man spent hours in the shower washing contamination off.

There was criticism and challenges and fear in the community. There is talk of the NRC and Carter was POTUS. There was core damage and evacuation. Contentions were made. Lots of vintage footage is show. A siren went off. This was good.

Women And Children First

There was a great panic. A cat is seen being evacuated. I hope it was okay. People were totally distraught and had total despair. There was talk of a hydrogen bubble. There was intent to cover up how bad the accident was. There were continuing concerns. People questioned the ethos and governance of TPTB. There was rhetotic. The accident stoked unease. This was convoluted. There is talk of noble gases. People are waspish.

There was serious mishandling of the accident. There were excruciating times and talk of dead fish. There was a cover up. There was talk of mucus and lesions. Locals suffered radiation poisoning. Jane Fonda got invovled. There were mistakes and forewarnings were ignored. The accident investigation was a whitewash. In 1982 people finally looked isnide the core and found massive core damage. This was good.

The Whistleblower

The aftermath was cheerless. This ep was a calamity. It would cost 1 billion to clean up TMI. The grim details are revealed. Reagan becomes POTUS. There was 9 feet of radioactive water in TMI and a melted core. Things got fateful. Shortcuts were taken and there was a pervasive legacy and no shared purpose. People get emphatic.

There were public declarations and ill advised actions and moral turpitude. These were challenging times for the locals. Some lunkhead lies for the nuclear lobby. He has malaise about TMI. There were half understood whispers and collective dismay and the lunkhead makes appalling contribtions. People are disaffected. This was ramshackle. People are firey figures.

Misbegotten chocies were made. There were disappointments. This was pastiche and pulp. There was jeopardy and superficial 'safety'. This ep serves little purpose. Things were sheer chaos. This had no invention. People were watched. Phones were taped and drugs were planted. It is by now 1983. There was talk of a polar crane. There was friction. GAP, not the store, is talked about as is a custody fight. This was soulless and there was discontent and people wilfully neglecting a duty of care. This was a shambles. People had whims and did cruel and unnecessary acts.

TMI was a narrowly averted nightmare scenario that has oddly been forgotten. There is indignation. This was meaningless. The non existant safety is regarded with laissex faire shrugs.

Best Lines:

“Operated for less than 90 days.”

“Scared me beyond reason.”

“Silly ass rules.”

“I don't want to be the next Karen Silkwood.”

“Setting me up to be fired.”

“Somebody's going to jail for this.”

Fallout

There was social discourse and the nuclear industry has no credibility. Genuine concerns are ignored. There were hidden agendas and motives. There were lies and more lies. There was talk of the CPU and MetED. There was a standoff. They wanted to restart TMI in 1985. The smug git lunkhead smugs. Coverups go on. There is talk of the energy crisis, a profit motive and safety and regrets. This was okay.

“Wrong doing.”

“Harm coming.”

“All turn up dead.”

“His stance has consequences.”

“Ruin of the industry.”

“Extreme peril.”
