Book Review: Insomnia

Insomnia by Sarah Pinborough

From the author of 'Charm' and 'Poison', comes this tale of insufferable career woman Emma. She can't sleep, dreads her 40th birthday and has a thick usless husband and a lying bitch sister and a slut daughter. Evil behaviour and sinister crimes are afoot and aimed at Emma.

Someone is intent on serious harm and the extent of the deception is immense. The twist and the reveal go into ludicrious 'Behind Her Eyes' style dumbness. Things go so bad so full on, so quickly it is OTT. Emma's friends, co workers and family turn on her in a hot second, it is dumb.

Everyone has not very nice traits. People have bad interpersonal styles and defective emotional experiences. This has no deranged inspiration. A horrific fate awaits someone. Sheer misery happens to Emma. This was not resonant. Why would Emma forgive her family for turning on her? This leaves logic behind.

There is reputational damage and a violent past. This was a bad idea. Emma is laced with alarm. This was not of any note. This started out well and turned crap. Emma ignores everyone who reeks of lies. This was not a profound and dark experience.
