Movie Review: Audrey: More Than An Icon (2020)

This was a superfical glossy documentary about Audrey Hepburn. She grew up in Nazi occupied Holland. She had screen presence if not a lot of talent. This was not completely enthralling. Her marriage to Mel Ferrer is dwelt on. Her son by Ferrer talks. Her 2nd son by her second husband is mentioned but does not appear. The second husband is dimissed as a cheater who made her miserable. Her life in Rome is barely covered. Her obvious lifelong eating disorder is not mentioned. She was fragile after 2 divorces and took up with (but never married) a dutch tv actor. She worked for UNICEF and died.

Best Lines:

“Total stranger who'd abandoned her.”

“Young continental beauty.”

“Resisting the transition to ladyhood.”

“Self willed liberation.”

“I trust his love.”

“Perfectly curated image.”
