Trailer, Quotes and a 1998 Tape Tale

Retro Promo: ‘Star Trek Deep Space Nine' 5x02 ‘The Ship’
A crashed Jem’Hadar warship is fought over by Sisko and co and some other Jem’adar. This was a good episode but the promo gives too much away.

Reviews of season 1 of ‘Da Vinci’s Demons’, season 2 of ‘Person of Interest’, ‘Rise of the Federation: Tower of Babel’ and ‘Lovecraft’s Monsters’ coming soon.

Quality Street My Green Bar = delicious.

I like camomile tea, peppermint tea, spiced winter red tea and tung ting oolong tea.

‘Parasite’ Quotes:
“All scientists are mad scientists. It’s just a question of how long you can keep yourself from starting to look thoughtfully at the nearest thunderstorm.”

“My parents would be pissed if they came home and SymboGen had kicked the front door in, but I assumed they’d be even angrier if they came home and found me dead in the kitchen.”

“I became the first scientist hose subjects had even a rudimentary capacity for looking back.”

“Armed SymboGen security guards removing sick people from private property isn’t exactly an everyday occurrence, and yet it’s nowhere on the news.”

“Anyone left inside would find themselves depending on the vending machines and their own ability not to die from an unspeakable pathogen until someone came up with an extraction plan.”

‘2 Broke Girls’ Quote:
“Friendly little visit from our homeless guy.”

‘Awkward’ Quote:
“He didn’t judge that hooker with the burning bush."

Cleared out a tape from 1998. It began with a ’The Pretender’ ep ‘Under The Reds’ in which Jarod is pretending to be an EMT, Miss Parker smokes and Sidney broods over his comatose identical twin brother Jacob. The dubbing of young Sidney was ridiculous and this was dumb.

Best Line:
“Sidney’s missing when he’s here.”

Then came the movie ‘Turbulence’ in which loony killer Weaver (Ray Liotta, who else) is being transported on a 747 at Christmas. Only to escape, lock up the handful of passengers and chase the sole surviving flight attendant (Lauren Holly) around the plane. A rabid cop (Hector Elizondo) growls on the ground and an instructor pilot (Ben Cross) has to tell her how to land the plane. This was trash as guns are fired with no resulting explosive decompression, people yell down huge mobile phones, Weaver goes OTT and the plane flies into a storm and inverts. This was silly with bad SFX and yet it got TWO sequels.

Best Lines:
“Who is actually flying the aircraft?”

“I’m calm. Now what?”

“Just one problem.”
“I think it’s a Ford.”

Finally there was another ‘The Pretender’ ep ‘Keys’ in which Jarod and Miss Parker are trapped by a hurricane in Florida. Miss Parker’s awful father shows up to shout and she recalls how someone beat her mother up one Thanksgiving. A sick child is in peril, Jarod’s latest pretend goes awry and this was dumb.
Scary Books

Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D 1x06 + The Blacklist 1x06 + Nikita 3x14 Reviewed

People die, weirdly. Coulson sweats. Agent Blake (Titus Welliver) cameos. Skye whines about the frivolity of being punished for being a mole, oh go blow the parking lot of a PC World you chubby weirdo. Ward is mocked. The dead people turn out to have been first responders to the events in ’Avengers’. Coulson is a moron. Jemma Simmons is in peril in a plot reminiscent of that old ‘The Burning Zone’ ep ‘Night Flight’. Fitz is immature, Simmons contemplates sacrifice and Ward shows off his rated M for Manly Man Stuff rating. Coulson shouts showing that the man can’t act. This was goodish. Something happened to May (that interests me) and the Coulson mystery is dragged out some more (I could care less).

Best Lines:
“I could rupture your spleen with my left pinky, blindfolded.”

“Have a cookie.”

“That’s not rust.”

“Nice to see you’re not dead.”

“If you have infected cargo, you need to dump it.”

Gina Zanetakos (no 152)
Tom and Liz shout at each other over the contents of the box. Tom protests his innocence; Liz calls the FBI on him. Tom does not seem to find his wife’s distrust of him deeply disturbing. Ressler snots. Raymond offers up another blacklist name: a woman who is a corporate terrorist who commits deliberate and malevolent acts. He also claims she is Tom’s lover. He also says Chernobyl was an act of corporate sabotage.

Raymond and the underused Agent Cooper have a chat. Raymond implies that at some point he will get bored of the blacklist. Holes are poked in Tom’s story. Ressler and Gina beat each other up in a lift. Liz is less concerned with Gina’s planned dirty bomb than she is with photos of her and Tom. Gina’s plan to detonate a dirty bomb in a port is somewhat reminiscent of ‘Rubicon’.

Reesler saves the day via some bad CGI. There is a twist in the ongoing Tom plot. Tom has nice abs, teeth and hair for a teacher who wears plaid. Do TPTB mean for Tom and his glasses to resemble Edward Snowden? Liz is done with Raymond and goes home with the exonerated Tom. But someone is still watching the Keen home. This was good. Is Tom really innocent? I don’t know.

Best Lines:
“Can you make it radioactive?”

“Delivering criminals to you is a hobby.”

“Are you threatening me Red?”
“I am.”

“I floated in the Dead Sea with Yuri.”

“Kill her? I want to talk to her.”

“I was really looking forward to the make up sex.”

The Life We’ve Chosen
The black box has a double lock password which means Amanda is holding Alex hostage to get Ari back so she can open it. Sean is back to being wallpaper as he, Owen and Nikita go to get Alex back with Ari in tow. Owen sneers and bores. Alex is finally recognised and makes a friend. Amanda whispers poison in Alex’s ear about Nikita, the thing is she’s not wrong. Nikita is annoying, selfish and self-righteous. Ryan gets his Percy on, again. People die. This was boring sap with about as much drama as Lauren Conrad ironing her skirt with her GHD. Still the Nikita/Alex conflict might have repercussions in future eps.

Best Lines:
“If the wild west had AK’s and vodka.”

“I don’t think these people can boil water.”

“You’re just a background player.”

“I am not a very well liked man around these parts.”
“Why? What did you do?”
“They believe I’m responsible for a massacre. Or two.”

“You had my back. Nikita didn’t.”

“She always has a mission. Her mission.”
