Saw the CSI ep 'Living Legend' starring Roger Daltrey as the murderous nutter, weird. Good
Saw a repeat of the season 1 Numb3rs ep - 'Counterfeit Reality '- and OMG,
that was some subtext avalanche.
"You must shut your eyes and endure as your betters have done."
"The prophecy says a Queen of England will be burned."
"Don't you know that I can drag you down as quickly as I raised you?"
Henry is having naked angst over More's execution and blames Anne for it
all. Meanwhile Anne is growing ever more insecure and turns into a drunken
nagging shrew. George Boleyn married Jane Parker and assaults her on their
wedding night. Mary has a sweet bonding moment with her baby half-sister.
Cheese-anvils about Henry's reign being remembered forever fall. The Duke of
Suffolk continues to hate Anne, why he hates her has never been quite clear.
Henry Norris shows up. After a visit from French wine snobs, Henry does some
dramatic candle extinguishing and then he and Anne have a vicious fight which
proves Anne's days are numbered.
This was okay but Anne's plight is undercut by the fact that Natalie Dormer
is a bad actress.
The Duchess of Suffolk's hat.
Henry in black, it looks good on him but wasn't black strictly the colour
of mourning back then?
Anne's diamond tiara.
"Why're you running?"
"Cos you're chasing me!"
"The blood didn't have feet on it. It didn't walk out of his body and climb
up the wall!"
John became a cop in 2002 and his old partner needs his help. John gets shot
and since he survives it, seems like Sara's not the one. This show while it
is a good idea, has bad execution. John had to have received the fastest
promotion to detective ever, his boss is obnoxious, Sara is bland and the
plots are idiotic. Dull.
Hellboy II: The Golden Army (2008)
Hellboy's back and he's knocked Liz up thus rendering her useless for the
entire film. Myers is not in this film and is revealed to have been 'put on
a bus' by Hellboy. Damn I liked Myers. An elf Prince (played by former boy
bander Luke Goss) is menacing humanity so Hellboy and his pals have to put a
stop to the Prince. They are assisted' by an elf Princess who is played by
one of the worst actresses I've ever seen.
This film is all eye-candy with monsters, magic, a 'Cloverfield' rip-off and
a climax near the Giant's Causeway. There is plenty of set-up for 'Hellboy
3' but really, why? This film is okay but it's fundamentally empty. I miss
Myers and Luke Goss deserves a better career.
Accompanying this film were two very underwhelming trailers for 'Watchmen'
and 'The Day the Earth Stood Still'.
A set-up or prequel or something for the new show (which I've not seen).
Various characters have adventures involving telepathy, body switching and
parallel worlds. It's all very weird and unclear. But it does intrigue.
Angel Issue #12
Best Line: "Gunn has a right to be angry, even if he's currently not
expressing it in a healthy manner."
This issue has horrendously ugly art. Gwen's a traitor, Cordy's back, Angel
is dying and Gunn learns that it was never about him. Good can't operate in
LA and Wolfram & Hart have been manipulating things to make Angel into a
bloodthirsty vampire again. The vision of the seemingly inevitable future
was freaky. There is a hint that Doyle is returning. This was an okay issue,
but the art was terrible.
Buffy The Vampire Slayer Issue #17
Buffy's in a sulk because she's not in any history books and she thinks
Fray's world sucks. Harth shows up to annoy and Buffy ignores people being
attacked by vampires. Fray takes exception to this and has an encounter with
future!Willow who shows her something that turns her against Buffy.
Meanwhile Xander and skankedoutcenatuar!Dawn have an encounter with forest
creatures they've somehow overlooked until now. Also Willow uses her big O
to encounter her snake woman mentor. A good issue but the characters are coming across as jerks.
What is so bad about Fray's world? Buffy just ignores people being attacked by vampires?
Why haven't the slayer army done anything about Warren/Amy/Twilight already? Willow is using Kennedy to communicate with the snake demon? Ugh. Why did the snake demon tell Willow not to look into the future? Why is future Willow seemingly inhuman and depowered of magic? What did future Willow show Fray?
