Chosen Ones by Veronica Roth
From the author of 'Divergent' and 'Insurgent' comes this fantasy tale. 10 years ago Sloane and her 4 friends defeated the Dark One and saved the world. Now they deal with fame, PTSD and side effects. This was good. A 1/3 of a way through the book, the plot takes an abrupt turn sending the plot off in a totally different direction. This was dark, complex and Sloane and co learn the Dark One wasn't what they thought, nor was his goal. And prophecy is what you make it. Also the line between a Dark One and a Chosen One is very very fine. Will there be a sequel to deal with the consequences of the ending?
“World-destroying lord of evil.”
“Earths emptied of human life by some sort of plague – the houses still intact, the morning's breakfast rotten on the table.”
