Movie Reviews: Killing Them Softly + 7 Days In Entebbe

Killing Them Softly (2012)

2 morons rob a mob card game. There is plain daft rank despair. This was blatantly inadequate and thunderingly awful. This is a spectacle of sadism by people whose violence knows no limit. They chose this life, it was what they wanted. There is a background of perceived national decline. Baddies are complicitous. Men accustomed to violence create more violent tendencies and social problems and make captial of perceived slights. Men have aggressive tendencies. This USA is shockingly desoalte. Brad Pitt, Scoot McNairy, Ben Mendelsohn, James Gandolfini, Ray Liotta and Sam Shepard star in this terrible, ghastly and awful movie.

Best Line:

“Died for those words.”

7 Days In Entebbe (2018)

Based on a true story, sorta. It is 1976 and there is no airport security. Nutters hijack a plane. People speak English when they shouldn't. They land in Libya to refuel. Are we meant to feel sorry for the crazy terrorists who call themselves revolutionaries who are unmoved by their own evil? The plane lands in Uganda, they yell their crazed doctine. This was dull, full of exposition, debate, useless subplots, dance and people talking and talking. This was appalling wilful bad taste. This makes 'Delta Force' look like the work of Samuel Beckett. Daniel Bruhl, Rosamund Pike and Eddie Marsan star.

Best Lines:

“Punished without mercy.”

“Putting their lives in the hands of a lunatic!”

“You're not oppressed, you have a business!”
