Max Steel (2016)
This was fairly grim. This was based on a toyline. I can recall the awful cartoon of the same name. A boy and an alien bond. This was like a bad 90s tv pilot. Max is a half human hybrid. A baddie has murderous intentions. This was ultimately tedious and slightly grotty.

Brawl In Cell Block 99 (2017)
This was meandering and bloated and tiring. There is minimalist plotting, 'gritty realism' and this was especially horrible. There are abysses of sorrows and memorably miserable people are up to no good. Vince Vaughn is arrested and goes to jail in this grindhouse film. This tries for seriousness of purpose but was as rough as a robber's dog.
