Movie Reviews: Ghost Stories + Home By Christmas 👻👻👻👻👻👻👻👻🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮

Ghost Stories (2017)

I saw the play, it was far superior to this medicore film. Martin Freeman is in this. A man asks uncomfortable questions in this causeless film. A man has unquestioning faith in himself and his skepicism. The man has 'credible solutions' to ghosts. There is bad make up. This was doomed to failure. Spooky stories are told in this disastrous film which is full of whimsical notions. There is a crazy kid.

Unsubstantiated stories impact negatively. This is of no consequence. Is there underlying evil? This was a vile abominaiton that is not high intensity. This is particularly frustrating. Freeman wears a flat cap and plays a burk. There is no compelling justification for this.

There is 'death' and gurning. The 'hero' has considerable distress, he's abusive and insulting. The ending makes no sense.

Best Lines:

“Be so very careful.”

“Prayer cards.”

“Hey presto he's psychic.”

“Only here cos she ran out of booze.”

“A man who spent a lifetime explaining away mysteries became one himself.”

“It's all true. Every last bit of it.”

“Things are not always as they seem.”

“That's right you did nothing.”

“Coma. Possible lock-in.”

Home By Christmas (2006)

This ostensibly serious film is treated with all the weight of serious drama. Yet is ridiculously stupid. Garwin Sanford leaves Linda Hamilton after 21 years. She realises how aggressively terrible he is. This fails miserably. Her daughter brats. Hamilton has no money or friends until the happy ending.
