A Tale Of Two Coreys (2018)
A bio-pic of Corey Feldman and Corey Haim who went from child stars to the gutter. Haim was once a praised child actor but ran afoul of perverts leading to drug abuse. Ashley Scott and Patrick Muldoon play awful stage parents. Feldman is befriended by Michael Jackson. We see Feldman on the sets of 'The Lost Boys' and 'The Goonies'.
There is fire hazard 80s hair, drug abuse and Feldman and Haim become big stars only to crash hard. This was a deliciously trashy movie full of deranged creeps, cocaine and meaningless pastel accessories. This was done with deadly serious intent. Haim and Feldman bonded over being child stars and being Jewish and being abused and drugs.
Feldman's family steals his money, Carrie Fisher gives Feldman advice on drugs which he ignores and time passes. This was okay. People have extreme egocentricity and nobody has a sense of guilt, shame or embarrassment. Hollywood is invariably callous. There is a complete disregard for the feelings of others. People don't like being confronted or challenged.
“I can't believe I'm doing coke with Mouth!”
“I thought I was the bad one.”
“What the hell does overdraft mean?”
“The voice of a turtle puppet doesn't count!”
Crimson Peak (2015)
This looks nice but it is not impressively inventive. Mia Wasikowska, Tom Hiddleston, Jessica Chastain and Charlie Hunnam star in this gothic romance. This was dull and full of awful awful people.
Grace Jones: Bloodlight And Bami (2017)
This is a too long documentary that was filmed years ago as Grace Jones toured and visited her family in Jamaica. Jones wears a hat that makes her look like 'The Flying Nun'. I've no idea what is going on. Jean-Paul Goude takes some photos. Jones has an unsafe way of opening shellfish, she's uncompromising and this was purgatorial and not inspired lunacy. Jones eschews the norm and discusses her abusive upbringing. Jones' family psychodynamics are laid bare and mad hats are worn.
“Poke poke poke.”
“Before the beatings came.”
“Get beaten for a week.”
“High flying bitch.”
“Don't make me lose it!”
“He died, but I didn't kill him.”
