Stinger by Robert R. McCammon

This 1989 'horror' about aliens smashing up a dying New Mexico town is full of racism, extreme rage, dated pop culture references, a moppet in peril, garrulous idiots, idiot plotting and nobody is a compelling conversationalist. This was a misjudgement. Somehow this tale of fraught horrendous circumstances is frustratingly bad. Quality is never a serious possibility.

Best Line:

“All their life but their own is repugnant...They can't stand knowing that somewhere a lifeform flourishes without their permission. They will come here, take prisoners for study, gather what minerals might strike their interest, and either introduce a disease into the ecosystem or conduct mass executions. That is their pleasure and purpose of existence.”
