House By The Lake
For the sake of defiance the opportunistic Andrew is shacked up with David Madson. Andrew kills David’s friend with a hammer and makes David go on the run with him. Andrew and his non specific rage is starkly bereft of morals and this stokes tensions.

What is with the celebrification of the emotionally inconsistent Andrew and his unarticulated resentments and transactional lifestyle? Andrew’s woeful distain bodes ill. This is all emotional angst and wannabe edginess. I’m tired of Andrew’s envy, hate and resentment.

Horrible 90s fashion is worn. Andrew forces David Madson to become a fugitive with him. What happened to the dog? The cops sneer at gay paraphernalia and Andrew likes planting that stuff at his murder scenes. The cops leave due to a technicality. The cops don’t come out of this looking good. People talk portentously. Why doesn’t David try to get away from him? Andrew kills David, this was all some plan. This BORED.

Best Lines:
“He has no one.”
“He should ask himself why.”

“They won’t believe you.”

“They do what they do.”

“The Titanic movie down in Mexico.”

“Got a weird one for you.”

“Ends up in a rug.”

“You’ve never worked for anything.”

“He figured you out in the end.”

Love And Games
People obsess over baseball and a player who has a mechanical eye. Judith Hoag and Harry Lennix of ‘The Blacklist’ and ‘Dollhouse’ guest star. Ioan has a replacement gallbladder, I’m 3 eps in and I still don’t know his character’s name. The sexist (whose name I do not care to know) makes more sexist comments. Ioan blathers about diversity.

A woman (Hoag) is divorcing her husband over a violated marriage contract because the husband’s family are over 112 and have no savings left. They moved in with the couple and the lame bitch wife wants them out. Nobody is convincingly wise. The throw away plot detail of longer life spans and pensions and savings not matching up to longer life expectancy is ignored.

The genetically modified lawyer is called too pretty by a judge. There are static personalities and rampant sexism. The sexist causes the
firm to be sued by his assistants. Said assistants are later referred to as paralegals, so which are they? Viola Davis wears a jewel tone blouse. The sexist likes being a sexist ass and doesn’t want to change.

Bionic eye guy just wants to play baseball and is accused of destroying the game. Disabled players aren’t wanted. Apparently people have lab grown muscles. The whiny bitch wife is heartless and belittles old people. She ditches any pretence of amicable co-existence. Lennix sustains the animosity against the baseball wannabe. The sexist spews abuse at his former assistants during a legal meeting. He sees this as his moral right. Nobody objects. His callous attitude doesn’t cause exasperation or sanction.

NDAs are mentioned. Nestor and Hector speak Spanish. I don’t know their character names either. Nestor lost a race for Governor. The male contraceptive pill exists. That game changing invention is mentioned in a throw away line. The sexist gets exaggerated attention.

The lame wife wants to cut out her in-laws and wants children. Nestor points out how she has manifest unfitness to be a wife. Yet the husband still reunites with her. The sexist demands an assistant; He admits being an abuser in front of his boss, yet oddly is not fired. The sexist gets a computer assistant. TPTB’s glorification of him is a catastrophic error of judgement.

The wannabe can play baseball. The sexist gets to enjoy being an ass. What is his indispensability to the firm? This was a terrible ep and why wasn’t the malign and disruptive influence fired?

Best Lines:
“Makes him bionic.”

“Our marriage contract.”

“Do you like your job?”
“No sir.”

“Terminated the marriage without grounds.”

“A life together. Alone.”

“Always needing something.”

“Crapstorm.”

“I’m a nice slut.”

“You’re not sorry.”

Pests
Did Philip and Elizabeth kill the guy who cut himself on William’s Lassa Fever filled remains? Philip and Elizabeth worry about Stan noticing their lack of parenting and constant absences. Wheat is babbled about. Where is Henry the invisible child? Paige sleeps in her closet. Laurie Holden guest stars as does Cotter Smith.

Paige is interrogated about Matthew by her mother. Philip and Elizabeth ignore their terrible terrible parenting. People babble about Oleg. The CIA are awful awful people. Oleg is bothered. The son of the defectors broods and is unhappy. The defector family yell at each other in Russian unaware that Philip and Elizabeth understand every word. Paige is manipulated. This was a bad tale of disunities and people pathologing normal behaviour.

Best Line:
“They’re not their usual picture of calm restraint.”

“We’re not here, at this hour.”

“Let me like him.”

Then And Now
The murder suspect sleazes and can’t give a straight story on why his murdered girlfriend broke up with him. A judge is put on trial for having sex with his dementia stricken wife. Sadie is smug. This show has an awful title card. Sadie bothers the dementia stricken woman and mocks rape and a lupus sufferer. The lawyers are vile jerkasses. San Anderson of ‘Lost’ guest stars as the rapey husband. Mr rapey sob stories and various boring characters have boring plots. Who is Sadie’s father? Sadie’s mother was offered a deal but didn’t take it. It is so obvious that the murder suspect is guilty. This was BAD.

Best Lines:
“This isn’t TV.”

“You seem smug and evasive.”

“Trials are war.”

“Go, do, conquer.”

“I’m in everybody’s way.”
