Book Review: Dead & Buried

Dead & Buried by Chelsea Quinn Yarbro
This 1980 novelisation does not quite capture the creepy tone of the deceptively opaque movie. In the small town of Potter’s Bluff, the locals are not endearingly eccentric just bizarre. They seem to be murdering strangers who then show up alive and well. This does not quite match the plot of the film and the chilling twist does not come off as well as it does in the movie. This was an over-written crushing disappointment.

Best Line:
“They will be comforted and reassured rather than see the final rot that awaits us all.”
