Movie Reviews: Thor: Ragnarok + 2 others

Thor: Ragnarok (2017)
A dishevelled Chris Hemsworth and a greasy haired Tom Hiddleston star in this tale of the end of Asgard. The goddess of Death Hela (Cate Blanchett) rains down destruction. Idris Elba sword fights, Jeff Goldblum prances, Karl Urban lurks, Mark Ruffalo says his trousers are too tight and Anthony Hopkins makes speeches. Sadly this is all messy incoherence that is rambling and aimless.

There is a Valkyrie, a garbage planet, spaceships, the devil’s anus and slapstick taking place in neon lit madness. Dr Strange (Benedict Cumberbatch) pops up and shows off his bizarre US accent. I was aggrieved at the loudness and conspicuous absence of sense and emotional significance. Jane’s dumped Thor and his friends all die and yet he’s conciliatory with Loki.

Where is Lady Sif? This was not a monumental accomplishment and there is not a forceful denouement. Loki carries on a one sided passionate rivalry in implacable fashion. I’m done with him and this cloud of tedium that was woefully inadequate.

Best Line:
“Piss off ghost!”
