Anyone see ‘Isn’t She Great’ (2000)? Or ‘Tootsie’ (1982)?
Kathryn Leigh Scott plugging her bunny book and eulogising Hugh Hefner on the news.
Who rants about fridge compartments and leaves the freezer open while yelling? Then complains about the fridge and blares music. Then downloads software onto a laptop without asking and hogs said laptop for hours and whines and makes mess and is ungrateful, selfish and drinks.
Postcards are a dying form?
Recall ‘The Wonder Years’?
Anyone read ‘Let’s Go Play At The Adams’ by Mendal W. Johnson? Or ‘Famine’ by Graham Masterton? Or ‘Stranger With My Face’? Or ‘Fevre Dream’ by George RR Martin? Or ‘The Drive In’ and ‘The Drive In 2’ by Joe R. Lansdale? Or ‘Pin’ by Andrew Neiderman or see the film?

Cleared out a 1999 tape. It began with a ‘Buffy The Vampire Slayer’ season 4 ep ‘The Freshman’ which was unspeakably idiotic. Buffy goes to college with Willow and Oz. I predict bad things for her. The tape had bad tracking. The characters are deeply unpleasant and this is not a well-intentioned drama. Riley Finn debuts. There is grody humour and ugly clothes are worn. Buffy is pissed that people are all but oblivious to her presence. Vampires are on campus - where are the Initiative? Sunday the vampire has poisonous fury at the world. Buffy faces abrupt rejection. Giles is superfluous. There are bad fights and this was widely detested.
Then came the very first ever ‘Angel’ ep ‘City Of...’. Doyle who is not compellingly cranky lurks. There is no clarity or insight. Cordelia is a failed starlet. The tone of this ep is widely different from the rest of the show. This is not allegedly fascinating. One learns nothing from this ep which lacks intellectual stamina.
Then there was another ‘Buffy The Vampire Slayer’ ep ‘Living Conditions’. College students were billed for phone use? Buffy’s roommate Kathy listens to Cher and this makes her evil. Buffy’s capacity to bear grudges and escalate feuds is bottomless. She has consternation over her roommate and is dramatic and sometimes vicious. Willow is a bimbo. Parker lurks. Why is Xander hanging out at a college he does not attend? The hostile dynamics go on and sense is conspicuously missing.
Finally there was the final ever ‘Vengeance Unlimited’ ep ‘Friends’. A bad friend is punished by Mr Chapel. This was not epoch making TV. There are contested words and this focuses on an unfulfilling situation. Nobody has moral courage just superficial jauntiness. Mr Chapel causes consternation. This was not fierce, relentless or uncompromising.
Best Line:
“Creating a non-electric light source.”
