RIP John Hurt.

Houseguest fiddled with heater. He whines, is snotty, steals chairs in restaurants, bothers the wait staff and will not shut up. He fakes being ill yet gets up in the middle of the night to make a toasted sandwich. Then complains endlessly about the grill and is thankless. Then says the laundry is over-dried. I’ve a dreadful suspicion that this increasingly nauseating git and his inflated self regard thinks he is god of the household. Now he wants to use other people's gadgets after wrongly claiming the shower didn't work.

I won’t read ‘Lie With Me’, ‘The River At Night’, ‘Little Deaths’, ‘Right Behind You’, ’Defending Jacob’, ’Everything You Told Me’ or ‘The Girl Before’. They seem deeply uninteresting.

I will read ‘The Dry’, ‘Her Husband’s Lover’ and ‘Anno Dracula 1899’.

Recall when electric can openers were a must-have good?

Recall ‘The Last Emperor’? Or ‘Blues Brothers 2000’? Or the 1993 ‘Stolen Babies’? Or the 1997 ‘A Life Less Ordinary’? Or ‘Freddy Got Fingered’, ‘How Stella Got Her Groove Back’ or ‘Cider House Rules’?

Recall the 1992 ‘The Camomile Lawn’?

On ‘Neighbours’: Tyler can’t get a job. Paige is selfish. A wombat is kidnapped. Paul is accused again. Drab and Terese’s attempts to take protective action are thwarted. The unworthy of living Tyler and Piper run off to live in a backpackers hostel. Gary is the wombat thief. Duh.
