Don’t Breathe (2016)
Three burglars robs houses in Detroit to fund an escape from their crummy lives. They make the mistake of breaking into the house of a blind veteran (Stephen Lang). While the burglars are a little short of contrition and empathy, he is a morass of swelling toxicity, rage and dark secrets. The highly irritating burglars get chased around the vast maze of the house, beaten, choked, shot, menaced and the ugliness grows. There is a wholly unnecessary narrative pivot though. This chills the spirit enough without that twist. This is full of unfiltered rage, moral ferocity, potent fury, a sense of desperation, terrible coldness, unnecessary misery and gratuitous viciousness. This was okay and very scary.
Gridiron Gang (2006)
A football team is made from violent inmates at a juvenile detention centre. Garbage.
