Death Of A Musketeer by Sarah D’Almeida
This 2006 book is the first in a series that sees the four inseparables investigate a mysterious death whilst befriending each other. This was okay despite the odd reveal.
“Gascony, which was, of itself, godforsaken.”
“And all for one.”
The Musketeer’s Seamstress by Sarah D’Almeida
Aramis’ mistress is found murdered and there is shouty fallout for the horndog. This 2007 novel is the second ‘Musketeer Mystery’ and sees Athos, Porthos and d’Artagnan save Aramis from adverse conclusions. The friends believe Aramis would not knowingly and wilfully murder someone (so naïve) and so believing he has no credibility issues they set out to save him from the furore and restore him to the moral ground. This was okay with an emotionally confusing ending.
“What was Aramis doing, running around with a bloodied dagger?”
