The Fever by Megan Abbott
From the author ‘The End of Everything’ comes this Margaret Atwood like tale of teenage girls and a strange malady that strikes without explanation. While this starts out interestingly, preconceptions of enjoyment are soon swept away. The solution to the malady is just offered up out of nowhere. There is much malarkey about a mom who just left, musings about desire and a bizarre maniac pixie dreamgirl who exists to be a malevolent defining influence.
Best Line:
“All that hair and drama.”
